Your research, your choice

Privacy and saved research.

Property addresses, budgets and landlord conversations can be personal. This page explains what the current early-access app stores and how to remove it.

Addresses and source requests

The address you enter is sent to the U.S. Census geocoder to verify its location. The server queries connected public sources for the verified jurisdiction and location. A six-hour server cache can reuse an exact verified geocoder result. Public sources and the hosting provider may retain request logs under their own policies.

A supported listing URL is used to extract an address from its path. TruthLenz does not need your listing account credentials. Tracking parameters are excluded from evidence-only copies.

Saving on this browser

A new report is held in browser session storage. Choosing “Add to shortlist” explicitly keeps a report, its saved cost versions and answers in this browser’s IndexedDB storage. Up to 20 reports can be kept, with three selected for comparison.

Browser copies do not sync across devices and are accessible to anyone using this browser profile. Delete an individual copy from My reports or clear this site’s browser data to remove everything. Browser saving is not a backup.

Cost calculations are processed by the server when you choose Calculate. Private follow-up notes stay on this browser in this mode. Production account saving is not currently enabled.

Sharing and downloads

Downloads are saved to your device. The report download excludes private costs and answers unless you choose to include them; the private comparison includes budgets and cost assumptions. Check the selected option before sending a file to someone else.

Dossier payment tests and purchase records

When a dossier offer is available, Stripe hosts checkout and handles payment details. TruthLenz stores the quoted amount, payment references and confirmation state, not card numbers. Stripe receives an opaque purchase reference rather than your report address, cost inputs or private answers in payment metadata.

A dossier reserves a fixed private report and cost plan before checkout. Private follow-up answers are included only if selected. Authorized support operators can review purchase references and support requests; the support queue does not expose the private dossier.

Deleting a report removes its reserved dossier and linked support text. Account deletion removes private contents and account access. Minimal financial references remain for reconciliation and refunds. Deletion, refunds and share revocation cannot erase copies already downloaded to a device.

What to keep out of notes

Avoid entering identity documents, bank details, access codes or other people’s sensitive information. Use notes for questions, answers, dates and the repair or lease documents you need to review.

TruthLenz does not use renter-entered demographic characteristics to rank properties. There is no live checkout or payment-card collection in this early-access version.
